I am putting this online for a friend so direct questions to him: mcmdave at aol dot comThe car is just about completely restored to an original specification.Here´s a description of what´s been done to the Fiat:Work claimed by previous owner: 4/23/06 rebuilt engine with mahle pistons, bearings, rebuilt cylinder head, rebuilt distributor new plug wires, belts, rebuilt generator, fuel pump, new hoses, clutch and pressure plate, axle boots, new brakes (shoes, wheel cylinders, brake lines, master cylinder), new tires and reconditioned wheels, new battery. I can´t really vouch for this list except to say that as you´ll see I´ve had to redo some of these same things.Work I´ve had done: 5/06 rebuilt starter, 9/06 seat belts, 9/06 interior rear view mirror, 10/06 hard brake lines, 1/07-4/07; new floors, body work, paint, rechrome head light trim, window gaskets, body trim, whiskers, Fiat Badge, floor mats, new interior seats and door panels. 7/07 swap wheels to white. 10/07 speedo cable. 1/08 voltage regulator. 3/08 carburetor rebuild. 5/08 replaced clutch. 5/08 replaced spark plug wires. 1/11 Theo´s tune up and rebuild distributor, rebuild fuse block (previous electrical problems were mostly distributor problem). 2/11-6/11 complete rebuild of transmission. 7/11 pressure plate. Runs like a charmOther: I spent a lot of time detailing things like the bonnet area with new mats, new tire, refurbish tire leather strap. Lot´s of miscellaneous stuff like that!Parts: The transmission that´s in the car is a later ´D´ transmission. The engine is a nos 633cc. The only thing needed to put it back on the road is the smog cert.I don´t have time to deal with it, I have too many cars and I can no longer afford the insurance.These are getting hard to find. There is more but this is the bulk of it.It will take a corner at 45+ MPH. The speedometer goes up to 140 MPH. I also have three different service manuals and a parts manual for it.Included in new parts; New front shocks still in box´s, battery, starter, special order tires, radiator has been re-cored, A-frames and drive line have been re-furbished, much of the upholstery has been redone, rear shocks have been replaced.included in extra used parts; windshield and frame, two hard tops (600.00 each new), good used starter, wheels and tires, complete engine, transmission, rear end, drive shaft, brake disks, axles, dash and gauges, radiator and electric fan, some body parts. There is more but this is the bulk of it.It will take a corner at 45+ MPH. The speedometer goes up to 140 MPH. Details: 1974 FIAT 124 Sports Spider owned by our family since day one - 38 years now. 1974 was a special year for this model as it was the last year for the following characteristics - Assembled in Turin, Italy, 1974 was the last Fiat-badged Spider built for European sale. It was also the last year of the chrome bumpers and the low-profile status. In 1975, the Spider´s were required to have energy-absorbing 5 MPH rubber bumpers replacing the previous ´classic´ chrome bumpers. Car´s height was raised for US safety regulations after 1974 which wasn´t as appealing as the lower profile ´roadster´ look. This car is in original, stock condition. Even the original paint and rag top. It has never been in a collision. 139,152 ORIGNIAL miles. It runs like a dream and always has. It had the same mechanic for twenty-five years.
